Special Chicago Rapid Transit Fan Trip

Often times individuals, museums or historical societies would charter special fan trips to run over the system and allow numerous opportunities for photography.

Most famous were the Central Electric Railfans Association ( CERA) CTA/CRT charters. I wasn't fortunate enough to participate, but I've been able to recreate a few charters on my layout.

So in the spirit of recreating some history ...

Bruce Moffat brought by his beautiful CRT 4000's #'s 4251 and 4253 for a special charter on the L. Lots of photos were taken, all the participants had a great time and the cars performed wonderfully. The shops even got creative towards the end of the day and added a Baldie and another Plushie for some addition photo opportunities. Enjoy and a special thanks to Bruce for making such a wonderful trip possible!

Also, if haven't already done so, I highly recommend Bruce's latest book, "The Chicago "L's" Great Steel Fleet - The Baldies" available from the Shore Line Interurban Historical Society (order at Shore Line Special Publications). It is a must read!
